How Ask AI works

Ask AI lets you ask a question in plain language and get an answer drawn from your own notes — not the open web. It's like having a conversation with everything you've ever written down.

How to use it

1. Open Ask AI from the home screen.
2. Ask something like "What did I decide about pricing?" or "Summarize my notes on onboarding."
3. Clair reads across your relevant notes and answers, pointing back to the notes it used.

Because the answer is grounded in your notes, it reflects what you actually wrote — not generic information.

Connections and resurfacing

Beyond direct questions, Clair quietly looks for connections between notes that belong together, and resurfaces older notes at the right moment — so ideas you'd forgotten come back when they're useful.

Free credits and Pro

Every account includes a number of free AI actions to try it out. When you want more, Clair Mind Pro unlocks ongoing AI use. The core app — capture, notebooks, and search — is always free and works offline without an account.

Your privacy

Capturing, organizing, and searching your notes happens entirely on your device. AI features are opt-in: only when you use them is the relevant note content sent securely to our AI provider to generate your answer. It's never sold and never used for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for details.
